Effective Altruism Switzerland is a project under the legal umbrella of the association Effective Altruism Geneva, based in Geneva, Switzerland. It is important for us to help you understand how we collect, process, and share your data. That is the aim of this privacy policy. Information We Collect

• If you apply for career or donation advice, we store any information you freely give to us.
• Our notes about your career/donation goals and journey.
• Any data you share with us when signing up for our events or for co-working.
• Information you share with us in the onboarding process.
• Email communications when you contact us.
• We use GoatCounter to count visits to this website. It sets no cookies and collects no personal data.

How We Use Your Information

We exclusively use your information in ways you consent to, or to comply with legal requirements. In particular:

• We issue annual tax receipts for Swiss taxpayers, for which we also need your physical address.
• We evaluate the information you freely share with us to offer you personalized career or donation advice.
• We send updates via our newsletter if you signed up for it.

We share anonymized/pseudonymized data for impact evaluations with our grant-makers.

Our Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text-only files that are stored on your computer and that help identify you when you visit any of our sites. This makes visiting and using our sites easier, for instance, so that you do not have to re-enter information continually.

This website sets no cookies. Our visitor statistics come from GoatCounter, which is cookieless and does not track visitors across sites or store personal data. Other Effective Altruism Switzerland services may use cookies to store session data; you can always change your cookie settings via your browser.

We do record which link brought you to this site — for example a LinkedIn post or a newsletter — so that we can see how applicants find us. It is kept in your browser for the length of your visit only, is discarded when you close the tab, and is attached to your application if you submit one. It is not shared with anyone else and is not used to follow you across other websites.
